Thank you for visiting SandyCinema.com! We are currently closed temporarily due to Governor Brown’s orders as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the State of Oregon, movie theaters are included in Phase II of reopening with special guidelines. As of Friday, 6/19, the Governor linked Clackamas, Washington, and Multnomah counties together for reopening eligibility. This means the tri-counties will need to apply and be approved together to move to Phase II. With the minimum 21-day window required between phases, the soonest possible date that we may move to Phase II is July 10th. Obviously this date has come and gone, so at this point our reopening date is up in the air.
We are hoping for a reopening in early August once new movies are back in session! Our upcoming movies should be: Unhinged, Mulan, Saint Maud, Tenet, possibly some movies that were playing in March, and some older titles.
Nothing is set in stone, of course and we will keep you updated on our *official* reopening date when we know!
What we DO know is that once we do reopen, it will be with thorough cleaning procedures, capacity limits, social distancing and face covering requirements, masks and gloves worn by our staff, and Plexiglas where necessary. We will follow local and CDC guidelines to the highest extent possible.
To continue to support our small business during this time, please stop by for our curbside concessions sales on Friday and Saturdays from 5:00- 8:00 pm. For up-to-date information and our full concessions menu, please visit our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sandycinema/
You can also purchase gift cards in person during curbside concessions or online in $25 increments at https://battlegroundcinema-com.3dcartstores.com/
One more thing! Congress will soon be voting on a new loan program called the RESTART Act, which is specifically targeted to small businesses. This would come from the funds already allocated as part of the CARES Act earlier this year. To urge your local legislators to support the enactment of the RESTART Act in Congress, please send a letter at https://saveyourcinema.com/ and send to any friends and family as well. This would not only help cinemas, but all small and medium-sized businesses.
We thank you for your support and patience during this time and we hope to see you soon!
